The Process of Applying Eyelash Extensions

Eyelash extensions can last between 2 to 4 weeks before you need a touch-up appointment.

Consultation

Before your lash application, you'll meet with the team at our Reno plastic surgery office and med spa to discuss if lash extensions are right for you. We may be able to combine your consultation and application into one appointment.

Full sets can take up to one and a half hours to complete, while eyelash fills take about one hour.

Preparation

A staff member will clean your natural lashes to prepare them for application. They will also separate the eyelashes to bond each lash extension to each natural lash.

Application

Using a special glue adhesive, we will apply each eyelash with precision and attention to detail, working from the outer edge of your eye to the inner corner.

We offer three application methods. The classic method adds one lash extension to each natural lash. 2D extensions add two extensions to every lash and 3D adds three extensions to each natural lash.

Drying

After the application is complete, our staff will invite you to close your eyes and relax while the extensions dry for several minutes.

Final Touches

Once dried, we can tweak any lashes that look out of place, trim excess extension fibers, and ensure a uniform, natural look. We may apply an eyelash sealant to protect the lash extensions.

Aftercare

It's important to not get your eyelashes wet the first 24-48 hours after application as the glue needs time to set. After this period, your eyelash extensions will be completely waterproof.

As a cosmetic service, lash extensions are not covered by insurance. Our office accepts financing through CareCredit® and ALPHAEON® Credit to help you break up the cost of treatment into monthly payments. We also offer monthly specials.
