Brazilian Butt Lift or BBL
is a “two in one” surgery. Dr. Murphy removes fat with liposuction from various areas such as the abdomen, flanks, inner and outer thighs. Once the fat is removed, it is processed and Dr. Murphy then injects it into the subcutaneous tissue around the gluteal area. This increases the volume of the gluteal area while reducing the fat in those “hard to lose areas” which creates a more feminine, hourglass figure. By using the patient’s own fat, no implant is needed and there is no risk of implant rupture or displacement. The procedure is done with local anesthesia in our office, which has reduced risk compared to general anesthesia. The technique and skill is very important as we want your body to retain as much fat in the gluteal area as possible. This means small amounts of fat are “feathered” in to each side. By injecting the fat in small alloquots the fat has more of a chance to regain a blood supply and remain in the area that it has been injected.
